Steve Jobs One of the Top 100 Most Influential People

It comes as no surprise that Steve Jobs ranks as one of the most influential people in the world, specifically, the 82nd most influential person, according to TIME magazine. Not bad for a college dropout.
Time notes that Jobs is at the helm of a company that has $24 billion in annual sales and 22,000 employees. In addition, Apple’s stock has shot up 70% in value so far this year. All this while Steve is looking for the next big thing, rather than chasing market share, as other CEOs are wont to do.
Still, Steve has his work cut out for him. After all, there are 81 people ahead of him on Time’s list. And he’s only number four in the Builders and Titans category. Anyone else think it’s odd that Indra Nooyi, the CEO of PepsiCo, is number one in that category? The last time Steve Jobs was upstaged at Apple, it was by a former PepsiCo CEO, John Sculley.
