Apple to Offer Refunds for PowerBook and iBook Power Adapters

Sunday May 11, 2008

The Los Angeles Times reports that Apple has agreed to pay the cost of replacing the power adapter used in some PowerBooks and iBooks. A class action lawsuit filed in the federal court in San Jose claimed that the adapter "dangerously frays, sparks, and prematurely fails to work."

U.S. District Court Judge James Ware has granted initial approval of the settlement, with a final review and probable approval scheduled for early September of this year.
