Steve Jobs Disappointed in MobileMe Launch
Steve Jobs delivered his assessment of the MobileMe launch to all Apple employees via an internal email, reports Ars Technica.

According to Steve's email, the MobileMe launch was "not up to Apple's standards." He elaborated, "It was a mistake to launch MobileMe at the same time as the iPhone 3G, iPhone 2.0 software, and the App Store."
It appears that the upshot of the disappointing MobileMe launch was a reorganization within Apple to bring all Internet-related products under one roof. Eddy Cue, the VP of Applications and Internet Services, will now report directly to Steve and will oversee all Internet-related services that Apple offers.
I hope MobileMe has shaken off its early launch pains and settled down to be a reliable service. I would like to see a continuation of the MobileMe status page, showing the current state of each MobileMe component. The status page should note any known issues, allowing MobileMe users to tell at a glance whether any problems they're experiencing are on their end (local Internet issues, device issues) or on Apple's end.
