iTunes 8.0.1 Released

Friday October 3, 2008

Apple has bumped the recently released iTunes 8.0 to 8.0.1. This version is primarily a maintenance release designed to improve stability and squash a few known bugs.

The only problem I had seen with iTunes 8.0 has been corrected. In version 8.0, the currently playing song would occasionally stop if you generated a Genius playlist. In 8.0.1, the song continues to play without pausing.

In addition, iTunes 8.0.1 reportedly:

  • Improves syncing of spoken menus to iPod nano.
  • Addresses an issue with deleting HDTV episodes when downloading.
  • Improves checking for updates from the App Store.
  • Improves accessibility with VoiceOver.
  • Addresses problems syncing Genius results to iPod.

iTunes 8.0.1 is available from Software Update under the Apple menu.
