MacBook Pro Disassembly Guide

Friday October 24, 2008

Just in time for a weekend project, iFixit has published an image-rich, 33-step disassembly guide for the MacBook Pro. Once you follow all of the steps, your brand new MacBook Pro will be arrayed about your worktable in too many pieces to count.

The images are fascinating, but iFixit left out one tiny little detail: a step-by-step guide to re-assembling a MacBook Pro. You’ll have to figure that out on your own.

All kidding aside, this detailed look at the inner workings of the new MacBook Pro shows the thought and creativity that Apple brought to the design of this new notebook. There are tons of screws within the MacBook Pro, but the actual disassembly process is pretty straightforward, which should allow both the curious and service center technicians to rapidly repair or replace components over the product’s lifetime.

If you decide to take your MacBook Pro apart this weekend, send us some pics and we’ll post them on About: Macs. Be sure to let us know if you were able to put your MacBook Pro back together again.
