Apple: Our Holiday Lineup is Set

Tuesday November 4, 2008

Apple today threw a blanket over the rumors of a November product announcement. In an unusual move, Apple contacted Macworld to lay to rest any and all rumors of new products or updates being announced before the end of the year.

While surprising, because it goes against Apple’s standard policy of not commenting on rumors, it’s nonetheless understandable that Apple wouldn’t want potential customers to defer purchases during the holiday shopping season, waiting for a phantom update that isn’t going to happen.

This leaves the January Macworld Expo as the next target for new and updated products from Apple.

How about an announcement re major improvements to Apple TV; improvements which don’t require a “total techie” to set- up and use. Home entertainment, particularly downloading movies and TV shows to a family TV, should be easy, intuitive and fast( ie, the mantra of Apple products). Oh, yes; and more cost-effective than competing products.
