Vote: Which Mac(s) Do You Use?

Friday November 7, 2008

You About: Macs readers obviously enjoy using your Macs, at home or at work (or both). But exactly which Macs are you using?

This weekend I’ll be posting a series of polls to discover which Macs you use, where you use them, and whether you’re a multi-Mac household.

Let’s start off with which Mac(s) you own or use. I’ve broken the poll into two parts, one for portables and one for desktops. If you use both, be sure to vote in both polls.

I didn’t list specific models; instead, the polls look at Apple product categories. If you would like to tell us which models you use, you can leave a comment.

I’ve had 3 iMac’s, a 17, 20 and now a 24″ and I still don’t think they are easy, intuitive or easy to learn.
I’ve had more trouble tying to use them then any Windows manchine I’ve ever had….sigh.

Maybe you should have stopped at strike one? Really, I mean, that’s such a generalized statement… compared to what? I’ve run DOS, OS/2, BeOS, Linux & Unix (multiple flavors), even QNX, and every version of Windows (except Me), and except for BeOS, OSX has been the easiest, most straight-forward OS to use in my day to day use.

The biggest problem I see with most people trying out OSX from Windows or another OS is that they’ve grow so use to the Windows paradigm that any change, even if it’s better, is an irritation that slows them down. Just like a new car, a new OS takes a while before one feels at home operating it.

I have an Imac G4 and 2 Intel Imac. All used.

Could only select one.

Try again :-)

I have had two Macs. My first was a Sawtooth G4 that runs Tiger. This Spring, after eight years of using my G4, I bought an Intel iMac 20″ screen, running Leopard. Both Macs made me feel like I was driving a luxury vehicle. I was a newby to Macs in 2000. I had owned three PC’s previously, all of them were nothing but trouble, and they crashed all the time. I had a third Mac, an iBook I bought this summer. I loved it . Unfortuately my pleasure was short lived. It was stolen in Amsterdam while I was there on vacation.
