Macworld Conference & Expo: A Quick Preview
Macworld officially opened its doors this morning for registration, but the interesting stuff doesn’t start until tomorrow, beginning with the keynote kick-off by Phillip Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing. After Phil wows us with new product announcements (possibly knocking some of the stuffing out of my predictions), the focus for many Mac fans will be the exhibition hall, where many of the new whiz-bang Apple products that Phil demos during the keynote will be on display.

I won’t be attending Macworld this year, but I vividly remember the mild-mannered race to the Apple booth, to be first in line to see and touch the new products. At the same time, many media types covering the event will be arranging last-minute private showings and interviews, which have a tendency to occur on the Expo floor. In short, a Tuesday at Macworld is a whirlwind of events, from the keynote in the morning to the crowded expo floor, with throngs of Mac enthusiasts eager to get their first look at cool new products from Apple and other Mac vendors.
This year, About: Macs will post highlights of the keynote address, and provide insight and opinions about new products, including pointing out where Apple went wrong and didn’t meet all my predictions.
The keynote address is scheduled for 9 am PST (12 pm EST), and usually runs between 90 minutes and two hours.
Be sure to take a moment and vote in the About: Macs ‘What Do You Hope Will Be Announced At Macworld?’ poll. Then take a look at my Macworld 2009 predictions, and add your own.
