Apple TV Part of September 9th Event?

By September 2, 2009

Follow me on:

The Apple Store has slipped the shipping time for the 40 GB version of the Apple TV from within 24 hours (the norm) to 1-2 weeks. Historically, slippage of shipping times means there’s either a shortage of parts or a product refresh in the pipeline.

If Apple is going to update the Apple TV (and it’s about time it did), the September press event is a logical time to do it. September is Apple’s favorite month for making most of its consumer entertainment-related product announcements.

Of course, not all signs point to an Apple TV update. The 160 GB version of the Apple TV still shows a 24-hour shipping window. Perhaps those 40 GB hard drives are just getting harder to come by.

Having successfully created a Backup Startup on an external HD, on testing a Restart using the Backup I have to use the Alt key, NOT Command key. It then worked a treat!
