Apple has posted new HP printer drivers for use with OS X 10.6.1 (Snow Leopard). The update includes new versions of drivers for a wide range of HP printers and scanners (multi-function devices).
These updates should be available from Apple’s Software Update service, but we haven’t seen them propagate to the update service yet. If you’re having HP printer difficulties with Snow Leopard, you can forego the wait and download the drivers directly from the Apple web site.
Let us know if this latest driver update fixes any HP printer problems you may be having.

A bit late. Hp and mac are both at fault with this problem. I’ve given away the HP printer all-in-one, never to buy another HP product. Their after sales repair service on their cameras is rubbish, and so is the website but I will stick with mac as I have done for 20 years.
Well, this is as timely as it gets. I’ve got an HP Officejet 4315 All-in-One and tried to use the scan function today to no avail.
Now, the computer recognizes the machine every which way, even prints to it from the print dialogue box. But when attempting to SCAN to the computer as a .pdf or other format, the HP 4315 says in three different places that the software is goofy (now those aren’t the exact words).
I called HP. They’d provide service for $40 — I told them to forget it: I can buy a new all in one for not much more and that they ought to provide service the way Apple does.
Folks all over the HP support boards are griping to one degree or another about the problem, and it just ain’t gettin’ fixed.
So if there’s anyone out there with SCANNER problems with HP, and who has found a solution, I’d love to hear it.

I downloaded new drivers for my Canon (all in one) printer. I bought the Canon the same time I got my Intel iMac. I haven’t had any problems with the new Snow Leapard up-grade.
hi marcella,
can you give a link to the canon driver updates? i’ve never been able to find stuff for my C8180. it still works, but i’d like to have the update.
thanks for this post, post-maker!
