Sandvox has already made my list of top software picks, so when Karelia Software told me they were getting ready to release a major upgrade to their flagship product, I was intrigued.

Sandvox 2 supports tons of new features, including full HTML5 compliance, and will have you building web sites faster and more easily ever before. Sandvox 2 retains its WYSIWYG ways, so you can build web sites without having to hand code. But sometimes, you may either want to or have a need to work with the code behind your web site. Unlike many other WYSIWYG web editors, Sandvox 2 allows you to access any object, including HTML, JavaScript, PHP, and many other languages.
Objects are now the main elements of design in Sandvox 2. Objects can be raw HTML, images, text, sound, video, just about anything. You combine objects onto a page to create your design. It sounds easy and it is. It also gives you a great deal of flexibility, letting you try out elements, and change your mind, without having to start over.
Sandvox 2 has also been consolidated into a single product. Gone are the pro and regular versions, because Karelia believes that everyone can become a pro.
