Apple Posts $35 Billion in Revenue, But Misses Analysts' Expectations

Apple today reported $35 billion in revenue for its third-quarter results, a 23% increase in revenue year-over-year. The net income generated was $8.8 billion, or $9.32 per share in profit.

Analysts were expecting revenues closer to $37 billion, with per-share profits in the range of $10.35. While the analysts may be disappointed, Apple had a good third quarter overall, exceeding its own guidance for the quarter.

Apple's board of directors has declared a dividend of $2.65 per share, which will be paid out on August 16th.
