iDraw from Indeeo, Inc. is a lightweight vector drawing application that can create technical drawings as well as illustrations. Built-in canvas templates allow you to easily set grids and margins, as well as snap-to options. The user interface, which in my opinion makes or breaks most drawing apps, is clean, and presents all of the tools in dark-colored palettes and toolbars. The main work surface, or artboard, is paper white by default, which provides a nice contrast between the tools and the work area.

iDraw is awesome! I’ve switched from Adobe Illustrator now that it can import vectors from PDFs and AIs in version 2.1. I also love the new appearance effects (drop shadows, inner and outer glows, etc) for many of my designs and the new Core Text text editor is simply unmatched by any other app (think of editing text WHILE it’s actually placed on paths and shapes!!) And finally the price of the app is very very reasonable for all you get, just the cost of a dinner at a cheap diner! Give it a try!
