According to 9to5 Mac, Apple will be touting new Mac minis and a 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display, along with the much anticipated iPad mini, at next week's media event, which is also still in the rumor stage.

The Mac minis are a new addition to the rumors surrounding the media event. They're believed to have the same design as current models, but updated with USB 3. I expect slightly faster processors and new graphics, to keep the Mac mini current.
Of course, the highlight of the media event is expected to be an iPad mini, with a smaller display and form factor to make the iPad a versatile traveling companion, and to compete with the proliferation of 7- and 8-inch tablets now on the market.
The expected media event date is October 23, which means press invites should go out soon.
