I recently received a question from a reader who found herself using a Microsoft keyboard as a temporary replacement for her Mac keyboard. Something about a cat, a cup of coffee, and a catnip mouse combined to bring about the early demise of her keyboard.
Her main question was: Why aren't keyboards cat-proof, or at least coffee-proof? I can't answer that one, but I was able to answer her other question: Which keys on a Windows keyboard correspond to the Mac special keys?
So many people use Windows/PC keyboards with Macs that it has become an FAQ here at About: Macs. You can find the answer here:
What are the Windows keyboard equivalents for the Mac's special keys?
As for the cat, I suggest keeping the keyboard and the catnip in separate rooms.
