Connect Your Mac to Your HDTV

Did you get a new Mac or HDTV recently? Maybe you've had both for a while and you've decided that it's finally time to create your own super-duper, over-the-top home theater system, with your Mac as the centerpiece of the design. Whatever the reason, you want your Mac and HDTV to be on speaking terms as soon as possible; all you may need is a cable or an adapter to make the connection.

Once you have the two devices working together, you will find quite a few uses for your Mac as the nerve center of your entertainment system. Besides the obvious (surfing the web and playing games), you can use your Mac to stream video from various online services, including Apple's iTunes Store, to your TV. You can also turn your Mac into an entertainment jukebox, loaded up with all the family favorites in movies, TV shows, games, and music.
