Apple has revised its MacBook Pro Retina lineup, increasing the processor speed while lowering the cost. The least expensive 13.3-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now boasts a 2.5 GHz Dual-Core i5 processor, a 128 GB SSD, and 8GB of RAM. The new $1,499.00 price is $200.00 less than the previous configuration.

The 256 GB SSD version of the 13-inch MacBook Air is now $1399.00, which is $100.00 less than the previous price.
The 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display also saw a modest performance increase, with a 2.4 GHz Quad-Core i7 replacing the original 2.3 GHz configuration. Unfortunately, the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display model still has the same $2,199.00 price tag.
It appears that the updates were mostly about manufacturing costs becoming cheaper for Apple, in particular, the 13-inch Retina display. If I had to guess, I'd say it's because Apple is seeing much better yields on the complex display than when the MacBook Pro with Retina display was first introduced. It's a shame that the 15-inch model didn't get the same cost reduction as the other models, but maybe we'll see it in a future update.
