Songbird is a multimedia browser and player built around open source components from Firefox and others. Like iTunes, Songbird can handle music, videos, podcasts, and other media. Unlike iTunes, Songbird allows you to purchase music and video from multiple sources.

Songbird can play back most media formats, with the exception of files that contain DRM (Digital Rights Management) restrictions. But don't let DRM worry you too much; most available music is DRM-free, including the majority of your iTunes library.
Songbird can rip music from a CD collection, build extensive playlists, purchase music from multiple sources, and even help you find and explore new music.
Songbird is free. In addition to the Mac, Songbird is also available for iOS and Android devices.
