Using Checkboxes to Indicate Status

By , About.com Guide

Bento’s Checkboxes are an easy way to see, for example, the status of individuals who have RSVP’d to an event.

The Events library uses checkboxes to indicate which invitees are planning to attend your party.

Bento includes a special field type called a checkbox. When you create a checkbox field, you give that field a name that represents the type of item you’re checking the status on. For example, if a checkbox field is called ‘Coming to Party,’ then a check indicates the individual is attending.

You can use checkbox fields for any item where you wish to have a simple visual status. You an also use checkboxes in calculation fields, where a checkmark indicates either the number ‘1’ or a text ‘Yes.’ No checkmark indicates a number ‘0’ or a text ‘No.’
