Install Windows Vista on a Standard Fusion Virtual Machine

Start the Windows Vista Installation Process

So far, you've used Fusion's standard method to create a virtual machine for Windows Vista, inserted your Vista installation CD into your Mac's optical drive, and clicked the 'Finish' button, which kicked off the Vista installation. This guide will walk you through the steps required to successfully complete the Vista installation, as well as install VMware Tools, which will make it easier to use Vista with your Mac.

If you haven't yet used Fusion to create a virtual machine for Vista, refer to the Create a New Virtual Machine With Fusion guide for assistance.

Start the Windows Vista Installation

  1. Select the language to install. Use the dropdown menu to select a language.

  2. Select time and currency formats. Use the dropdown menu to select the style you want Vista to use for time and currency.

  3. Select a keyboard layout style. Use the dropdown menu to select a keyboard input language.

  4. Click the ‘Next’ button.

  5. Click the ‘Install Now’ button to start the installation process.
