The MacBook Pro is Apple’s professional line of laptop Mac computers. First introduced in January of 2006, the MacBook Pro was the second computer from Apple to make the transition from the PowerPC processor to processors supplied by Intel.
The original MacBook Pro used the Intel Core Duo processor and was available with a choice of 15- or 17-inch display. In October of 2006, Apple updated the processors to the newer Intel Core 2 Duo.
Late 2008 saw the introduction of a new MacBook Pro line that uses the new unibody construction method, which essentially machines the chassis out of one piece of aluminum to produce a lighter and stronger laptop.
The newest version of the MacBook Pro uses the new unibody construction and Intel Core 2 Duo processors.
