In terms of computers and backup software, a restore is the process of recovering data from a backup, either manually or using backup software. A restore can be as simple as recovering a single file, or as complex as recovering your system and all of your files.
Examples:
If you accidentally delete some files, you may be able to restore them from a recent backup.
