Migration Assistant supports multiple methods of transferring data from older versions of OS X.
Choose the Type of Transfer
- Launch Migration Assistant, located at /Applications/Utilities/.
- The Migration Assistant window will list the types of information that it’s capable of transferring to your new installation of the Leopard OS: User Accounts, Applications, Network and Computer Settings, Files, and Volumes.
- Click the ‘Continue’ button.
- Enter your Mac administrator password.
- Click the ‘OK’ button.
- The available migration methods will display. You can transfer data from another Mac, from another volume on this Mac, or from a Time Machine backup.
- Select ‘From another volume on this Mac.’
- Click the ‘Continue’ button.
