Migration Assistant - Select the Type of Transfer

Migration Assistant supports multiple methods of transferring data from older versions of OS X.

Choose the Type of Transfer

  1. Launch Migration Assistant, located at /Applications/Utilities/.

  2. The Migration Assistant window will list the types of information that it’s capable of transferring to your new installation of the Leopard OS: User Accounts, Applications, Network and Computer Settings, Files, and Volumes.

  3. Click the ‘Continue’ button.

  4. Enter your Mac administrator password.

  5. Click the ‘OK’ button.

  6. The available migration methods will display. You can transfer data from another Mac, from another volume on this Mac, or from a Time Machine backup.

  7. Select ‘From another volume on this Mac.’

  8. Click the ‘Continue’ button.
