The Best Mac Backup Application category is open to any software that at a minimum performs a backup of the user's data. Applications in this category may also provide other services, such as creating clones of hard drives, creating archives, and working with disc images.
Last year, we limited the nominations to applications that could create local backups. This year, with cloud-based services being so popular, we are expanding the category to include backup services that use a remote location to store the backup.
